Fiesta Updates!
Friday, August 13, 2010
All right, people!
In case some of you have forgotten, many weeks ago, I said I'd e-mailed the guys over at Zone-X..
I lied.

But a few days ago, I got my lazy ass to do it and I have very good news:

Reply from Mr. Rahman Ramlee:

Hi Justin,

How are you ?

I would like to thank for your feedback which commented to us .

After receive your email , I did spoke and email to maker Andamiro about this issue and following advise been given.

Unfortunately all the data set up and install in machine not successfully .

Andamiro have said to communicate with PIU Player which know well in this system . I’m wondering how you could get original USB PIU and also provide with

Full access to all function.

The PIU Fiesta machine are still not upgrade and would you mind share the information with us.

Best Regards,

Rahman

And here's my follow-up reply:

My Reply:

Hello,

All right, I can provide the USB and the following details:

  • Only one patch can be applied at a time, meaning that the USB can only have one patch-file in it at a time..
(And I only have one USB and no laptop..)

  • There are 5 patch files.
  • The instructions can be found here: http://piugame.com/tempst_bbs/board/board_view.php?tbname=mal_notice&page=1&divpage=1&no=85

Basically, a laptop (or a computer) would be needed to switch between patch files after each update.
  1. Update machine
  2. Change patch-file on USB
  3. Rinse and repeat

A quote:
How to update
1. Prepare recognizable USB for FIESTA machine. (Recommend to use official PIU USB)
2. Please download 3 “FIESTA UPDATE PATCH”files and save it in the USB.

( 1.02patch, 1.03patch, 1.04patch )
3 After accessing “Test mode” in FIESTA, please insert USB into FIESTA machine.
4. Among USB Drive menu in Test mode, please perform “SYSTEM UPDATE”

5. After back to game title, please make sure whether version has been changed
Note.
1. For updating, we highly recommend to use official PIU USB. (Some USB may not be identifiable)
2. It is not able to update the latest version without installing previous version.
(required to update as following order 1.01→1.02→1.03→1.04)
(In case of ver1.01, you should save 1.02 & 1.03 and update twice, one for 1.02 and another for 1.03)
3. It’s required to save update file in USB Root (do not save it in any other folder)
4. Do not insert USB before accessing TEST MODE
FIESTA v 1.02 update content
- Amended some error of Ver1.01
FIESTA v 1.03 update content
- Extend range of available USB
- added up double step in Basic mode (Except china version)
FIESTA v 1.04 update content
- Change commend method of speed choice in Basic mode (79795)
- Add up speed 1X & 4X in basic mode
- Co-op mode is possible to enjoy without USB
- Add up mark “2X” in window commend for Mania mode.
- USB identification process become 1 Step.
- The gradel limitation is changed from Level5 to level10.
- Now it’s possible to set sound volume
*In case volume from machine is not enough. It’s possible to control the sound volume in software by following instruction:
In “Set up menu” of Test mode, choose sound test first then test audio. You may able to adjust and check volume here.

Default value of volume is 80. You may adjust this value from 50 until 95.

It
s not recommendable to adjust this value because it may damage woofer in case set volume become higher than default value

In any case, I could not attach the files in this email because the total size of all 5 patches is 197 MB (206,633,596 bytes)
I've, instead, put the files in the USB that I am to lend you =)

Umm..
How would I get the USB to you?

From,
Justin

We are getting our Fiesta updates very, very, soon =)

Fiesta patches.. Again
Wednesday, August 11, 2010
I guess I've waited long enough =/
I've just sent another e-mail.
This time, it's to the Operations Support Manager, Mr. Rahman Ramlee.

Take a read through the e-mail:
-----------------------------------------------------
Dear Mr. Rahman Ramlee,

Some weeks ago, I received an e-mail from Ms. Ng Bee Lin instructing me to e-mail you if I wanted to know the status of the PIU: Fiesta updates. At first, I was convinced that it wouldn't matter much if the machine was updated or not. But now I know better. The following list of cons was compiled based on the experiences of the pumpers (People who play PIU) from AMK, Jurong, Woodlands (Except, it's TimeZone there), CCK and Tampines.

Cons of v1.01
  1. Only support for one type of USB (The original 'Pump' proprietary USBs, and I'm the only one in Singapore to own it, literally. So, I'm the only one with full access to Fiesta's functions so far)
  2. Fewer charts
  3. Fewer songs
  4. Fewer note-skins
  5. Many bugs/glitches in the UI
  6. Difficult to navigate mission zone
  7. Difficult to navigate skill-up zone

The following list of pros was compiled based on info. from http://piugame.com/

Pros of 1.06
  1. Support for most types of USBs (Kingston, PSPs with USB cables, handphones with USB cables, SanDisk, Toshiba, etc.)
  2. More charts
  3. More songs
  4. More note-skins
  5. Fixes for bugs/glitches in the UI
  6. Mission zone has added texts to improve navigation
  7. Skill-up zone has added texts to improve navigation
  8. Added 'Music-Train' courses
  9. Added tutorials for new players to learn the game

So..
We would like to know if the updates will be done soon.

The updates don't cost any extra money, they're free, are official from Andamiro and bring new content to the machine that was previously left out. If the updates are not being planned, we would like to know the reason to give us some peace of mind.

We can provide information on how the updates should be done if needed. I'm terribly sorry if I've come across as rude.

From,
Justin
